Steering & Suspension

The job of a vehicle’s suspension is to maximize the friction between the tires and the road surface, to provide steering stability with good handling and to ensure the comfort of the drive and passengers. Worn suspension components may reduce the stability of the vehicle and reduce driver control creating a dangerous driving situation for both the driver and those they share the road with. They can also increase wear on other suspension components as well as the vehicles tires.

Alignments

Over time your suspension components are subject to moving and shifting which, in turn, results in the misalignment of the wheels and tires. Unless periodic adjustments (wheel alignment) are performed the vehicle may become more difficult to handle and excessive and uneven tire wear will result. Be sure to have your tire alignment inspected and adjusted annually to ensure safety and reduce tire wear.

Why Do I Need An Alignment?

Having a properly aligned vehicle is important for a few reasons. Cars that do not have proper alignments will not handle as good as they normally would if the alignment was set properly. This can cause potentially dangerous situations for both you and those you share the road with due to reduced vehicle control. These symptoms can include pulling to one side or the other, hopping from left to right when going over bumps, etc. which may place you in dangerous situations. Another reason to have your alignment set is to ensure maximum life of your tires. Vehicles that are not aligned properly will cause excessive wear to your tires which means you will be replacing tires more frequently than you would if your alignment was set correctly. As well, improper alignment can cause increased wear to the steering components of your vehicle. Make sure you have your alignment checked regular to ensure your safety and reduce unnecessary wear to other components of your car.
